Henry P. Allred was born June 22, 1975, in Columbus, Mississippi. He grew up in Millport, AL. Most of his family still resides in the Lamar County area. Two of Henry’s three brothers serve as law enforcement officers in Lamar County. Henry graduated from South Lamar High School in 1993.

He went on to attend Bevill State Community College in Fayette, AL, and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from the University of Alabama in 1998. Henry enrolled at the University of Alabama School of Law in August 1999. While attending law school, Henry served as a senator for the Student Bar Association and later served as Student Bar Association President in 2001-2002. He was a two year member of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society and the 1999-2000 recipient of the Dean V. Nathaniel Hansford Student Service & Leadership Award and the 2001-2002 Jerome A. Hoffman Student Leadership Award.

Henry earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence in May 2002. He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in September of 2002. He is currently a member of the Alabama Bar Association, and the Alabama Trial Lawyer’s Association.

Henry attends the First United Methodist Church of Jasper, AL and is an active member of the Celebration team. He is married to Linley Yerby, formerly of Fayette, AL. and they have one daughter, Libby. Linley graduated from the University of Alabama in 1997 and is employed as Branch Manager for First National Bank in Jasper. Henry enjoys reading, playing sports and spending time with his family.
